About QNTL

"My size was missing!"

The first time QNTL founder Sandra Fowler considered starting a lingerie brand was when she couldn't find her favourite knickers in her size anymore. The shop had simply dropped the largest size in that style! Eventually the size did come back, and the situation was saved, but the worry lingered... What to do if this happened again?

The second time was when Sandra wanted to buy some fun sexy lingerie and had a hard time finding something that wasn't just made in polyester and that had a nice fit. Feeling there was something missing and realizing she was not alone in these feeling, Sandra finally took the step and founded her company Quaintrelle of Sweden in late 2020 and then created the brand QNTL in 2023.

Fitted for curves.

The initial idea was to offer really comfortable knickers in large sizes, that makes you feel good and that stayed up no matter what you do. We also knew we wanted to avoid polyester all together and set out to find a material that allows your skin to breath and that feels soft and luxurious all day long.

Having worked in the fashion industry since 2006, Sandra knew that lingerie fitted to a curvy silhouette was hard to find and decided to focus her efforts there. QNTL has developed their own sizes and tested them on multiple people to make sure the fit is just right. All new styles are fitted on a size 54 curvy model, our XXL, to make sure the design looks beautiful and feels great. At launch, QNTL’s offers sizes between L and 4XL. More sizes will be added later, both smaller and larger sizes, but we were so happy with what we already developed that we didn't want to wait with our launch.

After finding the perfect materials, and having drafted and tested many styles, Sandra finally settled on offering something basic, something fancy and something sexy.

Made-to-order lingerie.

Having worked for both large and small brands and seen the negative impact of fast fashion first hand, Sandra also decided to work according to a different business model compared to most retailors. Instead of having large inventory, that risks not being sold and ending up wasted, QNTL will work on a made-to-order basis. This means QNTL will only produce a garment when someone buys it.

Even though this means you will have to wait a bit longer for your order, it also enables you to make some custom decisions about your products. At launch, the choices are a bit limited. But the goal is to offer even more choices in the future. We believe its important to slow down the fashion industry a bit, and to make conscious decisions about the number of styles we offer and how we produce these items.

To a new beginning

Ever since Sandra started studying design and tailoring in the early 2000s, she has had a love affair with lingerie. Its often a forgotten or neglected layer of our outfits, but it can really make the difference between a bad day and a great one. Being a large size herself, Sandra also knows how difficult it can be to find nice lingerie in inclusive sizes. Having worked with technical design and quality assurance, Sandra wanted to create a brand that works in a different way and really focus on quality and proper fit. The styles offered by QNTL is a distilled collection of items Sandra has wished to purchase herself and designs she loves to wear.

QNTL will not offer new styles or colours all the time, but rather focus on timeless pieces we think will last a long time. We will add more sizes in the future, and hopefully also offer styles for other silhouettes. We absolutely have other styles in development and will add colours when the time is right. But before we get to that, we hope you will love our launch collection as much as we do.
