QNTL - a slow fashion lingerie brand

I think most of you have heard the term fast fashion, it’s been in the news quite a lot lately in discussions about TEMU and Shein’s business practices and environmental impact. Fast fashion usually revolves around producing large quantities of garments or accessories at a lower price and to offer new items all the time, inviting everyone to consume more often than we honestly need too. As a result, many customers have stopped using their garments over a long period of time, and this in turn means the quality doesn't need to be so great. This cycle of overproduction and overconsumption is also causing major economic and environmental damages around the globe, from the countries that produce the garments to the countries that end up with piles of unwanted trash. It’s a waste of precious resources, puts a huge strain on our environment and is a waste of everyone’s money. Not exactly what most of us like to think about when we buy our clothes or shop for fun accessories.
When I founded QNTL, I didn't want to contribute to the ever-growing number of unwanted garments in the world and wanted to contribute to slowing things down. That is why I decided to work according to a different business model compared to most of other brands out there where I only produce your garments when you want them, and only in the quantity you order. This is called made-to-order, or production-on-demand. I also decided to produce everything myself, in my own atelier in Stockholm. This allows me to focus on making high quality items for you and be able to offer you a few customization options. Instead of offering new styles all the time, I focus on hero items I believe you will love to use for many years to come no matter of the current fashion trends. When I develop something that I feel proud of, perhaps a new colour or a new style, I will add it to the web shop and spread the news. All these things combined, is my contribution in slowing things down and trying to reduce the harmful effect the fashion industry is having on our world. This is what I mean when I say QNTL is a slow fashion brand.
Looking to our past, no one talked about fast- or slow fashion, because it wasn't really a concept. People with more resources went to a tailor or seamstress and ordered clothes in the fabrics and colours they liked, according to their times cut and silhouettes. The less affluent people bought or even made their own fabric and then sew their own cloths. Basically, all clothes were made according to you own body measurements, and no one questioned the fact that it took time to sew your garments. This is quite the contrast to today, when so much is available for same-day-delivery, and it might feel very strange for most people to wait for your order to arrive. Since I work according to a made-to-order model, you will have to wait much longer for your order to arrive compared to many other brands since your item doesn't exist when you place your order. Today, my production time is between 5-7 business days from when the order is confirmed. However, if the workload is high, production might take even longer. If that is the case, I will notify you immediately. On the plus side, whenever the workload is low, I can usually finish an order more quickly!
For anyone ordering a pair of knickers from QNTL the first time, I strongly recommend that you find a measuring tape and take your body measurements to find your size. Please check out this Size & Measurement Guide for information on how to take your body measurements and to find your corresponding QNTL size. If you have any doubts, need assistance, or just want to double check something regarding your body measurements, I will of course help you out. It feels really important to me to help you find your size and help you avoid ordering multiple sizes to find your perfect fit. But what about returns you might think... Even though I work according to a production-on-demand model, you will be able to return your items if you change your mind or they don't fit you well. If the garment is in pristine unused condition, you will get a full refund. However, if I find any evidence that the garments have been used or washed, I can't accept the return due to the delicate nature of how lingerie is worn. To learn more about that, please check out my Returns & Exchange Policy for more information.
My goal is to provide garments that you can enjoy for a long time, and to contribute to slowing down the way we consume fashion by not joining the crazy circus of fast fashion. I strongly believe a well-crafted garment is worth waiting for and I hope you feel the same way.
